First-hour checklist

A practical sequence that gets you from Plastic Drill to Copper.

  1. 1

    Survive the first drill climb

Start with the Plastic Drill, gather Wood for the Wooden Drill, then hunt Cuprite for Copper. The early hardness ladder unlocks limestone caves and real metallurgy.

  2. 2

    Build a double-U clay forge

Stack clay into nested U shapes, fuel charcoal underneath, and smelt ores without smothering the fire. Ceramic conversion means your forge is working.

  3. 3

Restore ship elements for Research Points

Discover elements, contribute pixels to the spaceship, unlock craftable mechanical pixels, and open automation paths like conveyors and electrodes.

  4. 4

Use Material Tracking and F1 Help

Pin materials in the guide, sparkle-track deposits through fog of war, and unlock forge tips, ore tables, and cooking notes from the Help System.

  5. 5

    Automate dangerous reactions carefully

Wire sensors, doors, and blenders before you attempt nitroglycerin-class recipes. Cooling arrays also harvest noble gases while you work.

  6. 6

Track materials, then unlock late systems

Pin ores with the eye button, expand the Material Belt to ten rows, learn world map zoom and ship teleports, and only then approach radioactivity and the Nuke Launcher.
